Thunder Force Series Playthrough (All Main Games) (No Commentary)
Hey guys! It's me again, this time I've compiled all my Thunder Force playthroughs in one single video. Pretty convenient, huh! This is my ultimate tribute to this great series. I hope you'll enjoy!
To clarify, when I say "all main games" I mean all original games that were made by Technosoft, excluding the very first game because let's be honest it's not really that interesting (watch a video on Youtube, you'll see what I mean). This video includes the following games:
-Thunder Force II (00:40)
-Thunder Force III (31:11)
-Thunder Force IV (1:02:10)
-Thunder Force V (1:42:29)
Notice that I've skipped Thunder Force AC and Thunder Force VI. While they're good games in their own rights, like I said they are ports of an already released title (TFIII) or not made directly by Technosoft (TFVI). I will upload separate videos later if you guys want to see those games though, but in this video you will not find them.
All games were played from the Thunder Force Gold Packs 1 & 2 on original Sega Saturn hardware. No emulation! They are pretty faithful ports of the original games with some quality of life improvements (example no slowdowns in Thunder Force IV). The games do have some sound issues though, so don't be surprised if the music doesn't loop perfectly or sound effects are a bit weirder than usual. One nice thing that is included in these versions is the addition of a "Kids Mode", which allows you to keep your last equipped weapon and CLAW whenever you die. Normally, in Thunder Force games, you need to re-obtain your lost weapons every time you die (except the first two weapons). I'll be honest with you guys, my playthroughs are not superplays, so I have used that mode. While it may remove some of the thrill of the games, the point of this video is to show this awesome series to the world and enjoy all the great music, levels and huge bosses! I've also took the liberty to splice my Thunder Force V playthrough to only contain the Good ending playthrough. In my original video, I played twice to show the Bad ending cutscene.
Speaking of which, if you're interested, you can find the original videos of all the runs in my Casual Game Playthroughs's playlist on my channel or right here :
