San Francisco Trip 2019 - GDC (4K 60FPS)

It's a wrap for this year's Game Developers Conference! It was really nice to connect with colleagues from the video game industry. The Expo was also very interesting with lots of developer-focused stuff to see!
The conference takes place at the Moscone Center. There are three halls to the Center: west, north and south. All week long, speakers gave talks about different subjects from the games industry. It could be about design, programming, art and even more. I've been planning all the talks & sessions I've wanted to go to and that's exactly what I did all week long! Also, I got the chance to watch the Panzer Dragoon postmortem and it was as interesting as I've expected it to be. Japanese development at the time was so different from today's and they also talked about the hard development cycle of Panzer Dragoon Saga. It was really touching! At least there are Panzer Dragoon remakes coming later this year and that gets me extremely pumped! Futatsugi might have mentionned that they've recovered Saga's master code after all, but that's not something to repeat outside of the GDC walls... wait!
Now, the Expo, which is the main focus of this video, is the place to connect and recruit people from the industry! I saw glimpses of Stadia, Google's newest entry into the gaming market as well as a bunch of tech & recruitment booths! It was nothing like previous tradeshows I went to before and was focused more on the game development side. I talked to a bunch of people and got some contact cards, maybe I'll give them a call or two!
