(I've decided to try and incorporate The Ghost Recon 2001 medals and veteran system into Thunder tier One, troops will gain medals for the added feeling of progression and perma-death.

Bronze Star - This soldier must come under attack (squad reports "Taking Fire" on the top left) at least two times in a mission, as well as confirm 15 kills.

Purple Heart - This soldier must be wounded and survive the mission. A soldier who is killed in action will earn the Purple Heart.

The Congressional Medal of Honor - This soldier must come under attack at least two times in a mission, as well as confirm 30 kills.

Distinguished Service Cross - This soldier must come under attack at least two times in a mission, as well as confirm 25 kills.

Silver Star - This soldier must come under attack at least two times in a mission, as well as confirm 20 kills.

The row under the medals are a series of ribbons. From left to right, the are:

Combat Infantry Badge - This soldier must participate and survive in any mission.

Caucasus Ribbon - This soldier must participate and survive in the first 5 missions.

Baltic Ribbon - This soldier must survive the next 3 missions

Russian Ribbon - This Soldier must survive the entire campaign
