Let's Play Planet Zoo Sandbox mode. In this episode we wrap up work on the Timber Wolf Exhibit in Perseid's Zoo.

The idea for the mountain is that it represents the Great Divide in North America. The mountain itself will be a dominating feature in the Timber Wolf, Dall Sheep, Arctic Wolf and Polar Bear exhibits. Each exhibit will cover a face of the mountain, and each will be slightly different than the other.

In the Timber Wolf exhibit, we get a more temperate forest with gentle slopes. In the Dall Sheep enclosure, it will be colder and steeper. In the Arctic Wolf enclosure, it will be colder still with a landscape dominated by snow and pine. In the Polar Bear exhibit, the river will empty into a great ice covered lake and a large glacier will be seen flowing out from behind the mountain.

I wanted different levels for the animals to be able to walk on, but still be visible to guests. So the entire exhibit is terraced. I was inspired by paths and hikes I have been on where you have a fairly level grade where the path is, but a cliff up and cliff down on either side of you. I looked up pictures of "Mountain Path/Trails" and just kind of went from there.

The base of the exhibit is supposed to resemble terrain you'd find in more lush, wet mountain environments and the top is supposed to represent high altitude meadows.

It's all supposed to look more temperate so as guests walk past the exhibit, coming from the Great Plains exhibit just before this one, they seamlessly transition into the Arctic regions of North America.
