Tinker Tailor Stalker Spy: #048 ( Tinker ) Ecologist Kruglov In The Cordon
Important Note:
Unfortunately, I accidently deleted several movie files that I had not posted yet. My SSD got so full, I needed to clear out a large number of them to make more room. The actual recording that would have been #047 was partially uploaded when I deleted that file by mistake. For that reason, I will try to describe all the important details that were lost, up to the events of the next video I will post which will be #048. It was around noon when I left Rostok, traveling south to Garbage. I did not linger there but sprinted quickly to the west, taking the hidden pass to the Wild Territory. From there I was entering Yantar, where I finally got the mission from Professor Kruglov, to find the Armorer's toolkit, which would enable the final and third-tier upgrades.
Professor Kruglov said a Bandit had stolen his Armorer's toolkit and wanted me to find him and retrieve it. When I looked at my PDA Map to acquire the location, the Bandit thief was in the Marshes and on the move. I had no time to waste as I didn't want to miss him if he left the Marshes before I could get there. I rushed out of Yantar and was passing through the Agroprom in record time. I entered the Marshes at the most northern area by the railroad cars, and my PDA Map showed the Bandit had moved from south of the Machine Yard and was now north of it.
I moved south-eastward directly towards the PDA location marker, where I visually spotted him at the abandoned truck, between the Machine Yard and the Northern Farmstead. The Bandit thief was alone, and our encounter was brief with his pistol no match for my rifle. Looting him I acquired the Armorer's toolkit, which would mean I could finally fully upgrade my weapons and armor, but I would have to return it to Professor Kruglov for that to happen. Since I was back in the Marshes, I had several unfinished jobs I needed to take care of.
The first one was to check out some disturbance at the Northern Farmstead. It turned out to be an unidentified enemy, since my PDA did not recognize the force there as allies. I approached it from the south, where they couldn't see me. I threw an F-1 grenade over the roof of the nearby house that I hoped landed nicely around the campfire, where I expected them to be at. After the explosion, I came around the corner to find everyone had been killed but one remaining Monolith. With all the loot, I headed south to the Clear Sky Base. However, there was another task of some mutants between the Machine Yard and the Burnt Farmstead. From the roof of the Machine Yard, I identified some rodents and shot most of them, but it took walking to the PDA location to kill the last few.
At the Clear Sky Base, I sold the Monolith loot and then left to go to the Pump Station, where just north of it was my final unfinished job, a lone Pseudodog that had escaped me before when I had killed the others. This was all there was to do in the Marshes, but I had a remaining job in the Cordon. It was a supply case that Sgt. Spooner wanted me to recover at the Military Outpost. I knew this would be a 12 kg case. When I arrived at the Southern farmstead, I stashed away all the excess items I had including a new armor I got as a reward. As the sun was going down, I left the Marshes and arrived in the Cordon just outside the minefield. I looked over the fence line, at the camp in the gulley just down the hill, south of the Rookie Village. There was a Pseudogiant waiting there.
I had planned on going to see Sidorovich first, but the Pseudogiant made me change my mind and I arrived shortly at the Military Outpost. I did a quick search and found the case but did not pick it up yet. All items that you are required to retrieve for a task, cannot be removed once you grab them and they appear in your inventory. Only when you return to the NPC that gave you the task, can the item be removed by them when you get your reward. I moved to the tower across the street and went up on the second floor, where I started shooting at the Pseudogiant. It took a while before it figured out where the bullets were coming from. When it did, the Pseudogiant started charging in my direction and went right into the minefield. That is the first time I had ever seen a Pseudogiant hit a mine and the blast killed it instantly.
After that, and with it getting dark, I was just staying at the Military Outpost when one of the soldiers offered me a job. The four men there were willing to go with me to check out an unknown mutant force, at the same location where the Pseudogiant had been. I decided to keep the men inside safe, in case another storm arrived, and I went back across the street to the second floor of the guard tower and through the darkness and fog, it took me awhile to identify the mass of mutants there. It was Bloodsuckers, and now you are caught up to the events that start in this video. It was a loss of about 12 hours and four or five video recorded that I lost.
