Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a Gearbox Software and 2K Games action role-playing first-person shooter video game. It is a Borderlands franchise spin-off and the sequel to Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. The game was launched on March 25th, 2022 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
As with its predecessors, the game is a first-person shooter with action RPG features. The game may be played solo or in split-screen multiplayer with up to three additional players online or locally. The game takes place immediately following Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, and, like that expansion, takes place in the universe of a fantasy-themed tabletop role-playing game. Tiny Tina will serve as its dungeon master and will have the ability to alter the game's world on the fly. The game has an overworld, which the player characters utilise to navigate the game's many areas. Random combat encounters and objectives may be performed solely in the overworld.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands adheres to the same principles of the Borderlands franchise from which it evolved, while also introducing various new elements. Instead of playing as a certain vault hunter with their own personality and voice lines, users create their own character utilising the game's character builder system. Six distinct character classes are included in the game, and for the first time in the series, players may mix and match these abilities for their characters. The playable avatars have stats that may be enhanced through the use of "hero points." Players will have access to a huge array of weapons and guns, and for the first time in the series, players will be able to handle melee weapons. The game retains the Borderlands series' randomly generated loot system, which is capable of creating an infinite number of weapon and accessory combinations. Additionally, the game introduces new forms of gear that players may utilise to boost their strength. Melee weapons have their own fifth weapon slot to encourage close combat. Grenades, a franchise mainstay, have been replaced with a cooldown spell slot. Players have the ability to unleash spells such as summoning meteors and changing opponents into sheep. Finally, two ring slots and an amulet slot have been added to further enhance the character's power.
