It's best if you had bought the Hylian Shield from Malo at Kakariko Village right after the King Bulblin fight or else you'll end up defenseless if you get hit by a fire enemy, if you are too late you have to wait for daytime because the store closes at night. The price goes for 200 Rupees.

Goron Mines is the second dungeon in the game, In this dungeon you get the Hero's Bow which is very important for long range combat, as the gale boomerang does nothing but stun the enemy and the slingshot has limited range and it's not as efficient as the bow.
