Hi friends! Spike the fine motor hedgehog lost all of his quills and needs your help putting them back in!! This toy is filled with learning opportunities! Little ones can work on their fine motor skills as they grasp each peg-shaped quill and insert it into the hedgehog’s back. They can also learn about color recognition, sorting and counting!

Gestures such as nodding head “yes”, shaking head “no”, clapping and giving a high five can be practiced while playing. This is also a great way to target functional words such as “in” and “out” as well as “help”, “yes”, “no”, and “more”. Exclamatory words such as “Yay”, “Uh oh” and “Wow” are also great words for your little ones to imitate and are super fun 🤗 It’s a great opportunity for imitation if little ones have yet to learn these words. Eventually give expectant pauses and see if they can fill in the blanks for in and out! If your little one is ready for short sentences, you can practice saying, “help me”, “we did it!” Or “I did it!” 🙌🏼

This is also a great activity for introducing taking turns and emphasizing “my turn” and “your turn”. Have fun learning friends 🤍
