Learn Words and Colors with Pop Up Pirate | Learn to Talk | Toddler Learning Video
Hi friends! Our friend Pop Up Pirate needs our help getting out of the barrel! This is such a fun toy that can be used in so many ways. Words such as “in, out, yay, pop, more, woah, wow, surprise, me” and many more words can be emphasized while playing with your little one. Once your little one has become familiarized with the single words, feel free to expand the word by adding another one such as “blue in”, “sword in/out” etc.
Little ones can work on their fine motor skills as they put the swords in and take them out. At the same time they will learn color recognition as they pick up each sword.
This is also a great toy for learning how to take turns and following directions. You can say “my turn” and “your turn” when taking turns. Or even practice by saying their name and your name if that’s something you would like to practice such as “it’s Mama’s turn” etc.
The concept of “first and then” when it comes to following directions can also be introduced. For example, in the video we say, “First we need to take the swords out and Then we’ll put our pirate back in”. This can be translated into many ways during everyday play, getting dressed etc. such as “First we put on our socks and Then we put on our shoes”. Let’s say they want to play with another toy instead of the one they’re playing with, you can say, “First let’s put away the trucks and Then we can play with blocks”. Little ones can start off by following one step directions and later build onto two step directions 🥰
Have fun learning and hearing those cute little giggles as they see the pirate pop out 🤗
