This game is green, very, very green. Perhaps this is understandable considering this is Slime World after all, but you'll notice most of the screen is just covered in green with the action confined to small, claustrophobic caves. This is probably in part due to this Mega Drive version being a rather unoptimized port of an Atari Lynx game which obviously had a lower resolution. That version also supported up to 8 players, but this version only supports a maximum of 2 players.

There are 6 different adventures to choose from in the menu, each with their own unique challenges (the Logic adventure strips you of your gun while you must collect mushrooms in the Suspense adventure to add more time before Slime World is destroyed) and this is the most basic Easy adventure.

You have a gun to destroy enemies and numerous items can be collected although I have no clue how you're supposed to activate them, only that holding the A button brings up a menu that lets you switch between the items. Defeated enemies spray slime that sticks to you which will eventually kill you unless you find a water pool to clean yourself up in.

There are a few good ideas here, but this game is badly let down by it's rather awkward jumping and climbing controls, frustrating level design (there are all sorts of hidden pits and traps you can't see coming) and dreadful audio with repetitive music and some of the worst sound effects ever heard in a Mega Drive game. It's OK overall and I've played much worse, but it could have been a lot better too.
