Bout presents: Top Gear 3000 ㅡ Karem, Naosphein

Enjoy a cosmic adventure with us with Top Gear 3000, Episode 40 – Karem, Naosphein, as the indomitable Ebony, our dark blue cosmic chariot, takes on the challenges of the fortieth race in the iconic Top Gear series. In the year 2962, a staggering five centuries have passed since the devastating World War XVII reshaped the destiny of the system. Now, in this cosmic era, we thrust ourselves into intergalactic races that span centuries, navigating through the unknown galaxy where the race commences at the edges, weaving through twelve systems, and culminating at the enigmatic center.

Our cosmic journey unfolds on Karem, a planet nestled within the Naosphein system, where the conditions are nothing short of dusty. Picture a vast desert landscape stretching to the cosmic horizon, adorned with floating rocks that add a surreal touch to the cosmic challenge. Karem's track, though not the most formidable in this unknown galaxy, stands as the second-hardest race, making it a crucible of speed, strategy, and cosmic resilience.

Amidst the dusty expanse, Ebony becomes the cosmic maestro, navigating the treacherous terrain with the precision of a cosmic virtuoso. The challenge intensifies as racers grapple with the unique dynamics of floating rocks, adding a layer of complexity to each turn, jump, and cosmic maneuver. Karem emerges as a testament to the enduring spirit of cosmic racing, where each lap becomes a dance between machine and cosmic landscape.

Superior challengeㅡwhile Karem's race is a formidable cosmic challenge, it pales in comparison to the ultimate test – the Mechan planet, the crown jewel of difficulty in this unknown galaxy. This is because both planets have this crown. In fact, their exotic level is undeniable. As we hurtle through Karem, it becomes a cosmic precursor to the grand finale that awaits on Mechan. The dusty conditions set the stage for a cosmic spectacle, where every racer must harness skill and strategy to conquer the challenges of the Naosphein system.

Join us in this cosmic celebration of speed, strategy, and the relentless pursuit of victory. Ebony's silhouette cuts through the dusty veil of Karem, leaving an indelible mark on the cosmic track. Episode 40 beckons cosmic enthusiasts to witness a race that stands as a testament to the cosmic legacy of Top Gear, where every turn becomes a cosmic symphony and every lap a cosmic masterpiece.

Thanks a lot for being a crucial part of this cosmic racing saga.

Top Gear 3000, known in Japan as The Planet's Champ: TG3000 (プラネットチャンプ TG3000), is a racing game developed by Gremlin Interactive and published by Kemco for the Super Nintendo. It's the sequel to Top Gear 2, and the last in the Top Gear series to be developed by Gremlin Interactive.

Planets of the conglomerate—the game has two distinct modes of gameplay, with Championship mode and Versus mode, both being the most expansive. Cars are limited by the range of their fuel, and of the condition of their frame; players gain fuel by driving over the red Recharge strips, and repair their car's structural integrity by driving over the blue Repair Strips.

On release, Famicom Tsūshin scored the game a 21 out of 40. GamePro commented that the game is solidly made, but derivative. They elaborated that the weapons are not truly important to the action and that many of the outer space locales "look suspiciously Earthlike", leaving the "terrific" four-player mode as the only element to set Top Gear 3000 apart from the many racers which preceded it. Nintendo Power gave it a rating of 3.2/5.

Due to the capabilities of the new chip DSP-4 used for this game, it was the first game in the series that was possible to split the track in two different directions with different lengths, sometimes intentionally making one route much faster than the other. Top Gear 3000 was the only game in the history of the Super NES to use this chip.
