43Now that TopGun Maverick is out and the phoenix aim-54 has been (fixed, updated, nerfed, brokened, restored) you decide, what is the F-14 Tomcat for? Some history, not the Top Gun movie which left out some details, a documentary my secret hope for DCS... Question is, is the F14 still a viable PVP plane, let me know in the comments - but what I can say is that it is a great BVR interceptor with the Phoenix missile against TU-22 and TU-95 Russian/Soviet bombers. It also works great up close in a dogfight with Aim-9 sidewinders or the Aim-7. But where is its place?
