Arrrr Me Matey! There is NOTHING better than a good Pirate Game, and this one is a GREAT one!. It brings me back to the good old days when I used to play Sid Meier's "Pirates" on the old Colecovision and from the late 1990s and 2000s! This game is amazing!
Prior to making this second episode, I had attempted to make several recordings, but due to sound recording issues, was forced to abandon the footage. The advantage to this was that I had put in more than a few hours of gameplay, had a number of both failures AND successes, and managed to learn the game... At least early on!
It is important to not that the tutorial only gets you started! It does NOT present you with all the capabilities and nuances of the game. That only comes with the experience of playing. Be prepared to FAIL, but make certain you save often and learn from your mistakes!
In this episode, I will primarily be showing you how to attack and BOARD ships. Boarding ships presents you with not only MORE LOOT, but also allows you to either add the ship to your fleet, or to sell them for gold at the nearest harbormaster. The larger your fleet, more advantage you will have at taking down the richest convoys, the toughest pirates, and even perform raids on towns and villages. More ships means more crew and and much better fighting advantage!
In addition, your will also be seeing the following aspects within the game:
- Procuring more crew members, either from taverns or pillaged ships
- Acquiring missions and tasks from Governors and taverns
- Trading and/or buying goods from the marketplace
- Upgrading and maintaining/repairing ships at the harbormaster
