Yes, you read that correctly. I cleared a Touhou game while in a car's passenger seat as it traveled across a long highway connecting two cities together. This was of course, done through the help of my laptop. (Which is how I play and record all of my Touhou games.)

Needless to say, a lot of difficulties got in the way, and it shows. My movements were less precise and more haphazardly thanks to the car's rumbling altering my train of thought and the movement of my fingers. Enemies and bullets that should be obvious to sight were even less so thanks to the sun's light getting into the way (I even raised the brightness in the Intel graphics panel before I faced Patchouli. And before anyone asks, it's an Nvidia Optimus laptop not an Intel HD laptop!). There's also the cold factor added in, as the temperature dropped significantly the more I went deeper. Oh, and of course the factor of your head getting in the way of the driver being able to see the side mirror, as well as the laptop being on my lap as opposed to a table. It's uncomfortable to keep my head away from the mirror and yet still maintain the best of my ability in a Touhou game. To help with the way I tell where my character is, I picked Marisa, who has a more visible hitbox than Reimu's huge mass of white under her hair.

There's a ton of mistakes here. One death to Cirno's evil shotgun blasts, another to wisps blending in a little too much with the background, a smacking by Meiling, and it goes all the way up to Remilia.

Needless to say, the one and only omnipotent maid, Sakuya Izayoi, had me killed the most, once to her Misdirection, lost the 1-up block that you get for clearing Misdirection AND losing to Eternal Meek. The ironic part is that I initiated a stage 5 practice run not long beforehand, and in that run I lost the Misdirection 1-up...only to repeat it in the car run and even worse as well.

Nevertheless, I got an adrenaline rush I haven't seen for a while in a Touhou game, not in one I've played countless times and beaten as all loadouts. It was an enjoyable run. The heartbeats and sense of uncertainty on what will happen next was really amazing. I hope you too enjoy it. In a car.
