The shrine maiden, Reimu Hakurei, was troubled.
Her purification rod wasn't listening to her.

Ah, this must be because it's turned into a tsukumogami, right?
So that means it's an enemy of hers, isn't it?

However, she didn't take action.
Why? Because a tool that moved on its own was convenient for her.

Possibly because of her guilty conscience, she didn't mention this to anybody.
It was right at this time that an unexpected situation occurred.

——The Forest of Magic. A forest that was wet and humid throughout the year.
Within it, there was a place that was relatively dry:
The house of Marisa Kirisame, a magician.

It seemed that her prized possession, the Mini-Hakkero,
was somehow driving away the moisture and drying the surrounding area.

Her flame-spouting Mini-Hakkero was averse to moisture.
It seemed to be acting out of its own will.

She was troubled by how to handle a tool that had begun moving on its own.
How could she go about roasting some youkai with this bewitched weapon's fire...?

——The Scarlet Devil Mansion. A mansion on the shore of a lake, where a devil lived.
The head maid, Sakuya Izayoi, had received orders from the resident vampire.
"There's some youkai rampaging in the Misty Lake, so go do something," she said.

The vampire didn't ordinarily say things like that, but it seemed there was something else going on underneath, and Sakuya set off without listening too closely.

Why did she think that?
It was because she had recently found a mysterious sword.
That very sword had started to move on its own.
Rampaging youkai, and her mysterious sword. They couldn't be unrelated.

As for why 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 was: when she grasped the sword, she too felt like rampaging.

——The rampaging youkai were causing riots in many places.
Tools that moved of their own accord had been found here and there, too.
What on earth was happening?
Neither Reimu and company, nor the rampaging youkai, had any idea.

Clouds of unease were gradually beginning to cover the sky.
The sound of a huge building, creaking in the strong wind.
Discord echoed across Gensokyo.

Welcome to Double Dealing character. This game's naturally more difficult than Ten Desires was, however thankfully not crazily so. The resource mechanic kinda helps towards that difficulty, however considering it's much better than UFO's or spirits ever were I cant complain.

For the stage itself it's your standard fare, just blast enemies and collect as many [P] as you can. However with the nature of the beast this stage also gives you good practice to proper timing on when to zip up to the PoC to maximize resources.

Cirno's no problem at all. She comes in, you blast her, you move on.

Wakasagihime's a little tricky at times, but is really there to give you a taste for the difficulty later on. You can't just hang back completely and dodge, you will need to push ahead a little and plan your moves ahead of time.
