Touhou 15 without Reisen is definitely the hardest game in the series for me, no doubt about it. While Subterranean Animism was bad, I have never grasped how overpowered Reisen actually is, it's a whole different game without her.

This game has it all: every chapter after stage 1 being extremely long, the 200 graze mechanic being hard to fulfill, really hard non spells, Clownpiece in general, tons of survival spells, a lot of lasers, Junko having a lot of hp, it's indisputably the hardest time I had trying to get a normal 1cc.

Shortly after doing this, I beat hard on pointdevice with Marisa, I had a lot of fun simply because there's no stress involved and you have an infinite room for mistakes. It took 480 retries and around 2 hours.

Beating this game without Reisen actually made me really appreciate it a lot more, spell patterns were really well thought of and it was fun trying to figure out how to dodge everything without just being able to tank through bullets with Reisen's shields. I probably rank this game as my 5th favorite, although WBaWC, PCB and IN will definitely remain my favorites.

Stage 6 midstage song is now my favorite Touhou song. It fits stage 6 perfectly, it's meant to be a breather after having to endure stage 5 (the whole game, frankly), there's no midboss except for a few short chapters, it's a fantastic buildup to Junko. Just like how Byakuren has the heartbeat sound, or Okuu having the caution transition between spells, Junko on the other hand has a beautiful theme both for her actual boss fight and for the midstage before her.
