I actually ended up really liking this game.
Modern touhous often feel like resource management games, that are less about dodging, and more about abusing the gimmick, be it releases, hypers, cards, and now hypers again.
But this time around it kind of feels like the game is designed around that, seeing as it literaly FORCES you to hyper and kill the illuminatis that spawn. The patterns on lunatic are also so insane that you really do need just cheese them lmao.
The incident stones are pretty cool system. Some of the stones really synergize with each other and just the sheer amount of cool builds you can make with them is insane. basically everyone i've seen so far uses different stone loadouts and most of them have their own unique routes they can do. probably my favourite gimmick in years.
The state the game released in though is kind of pathetic. This game is so poorly made that basically EVERYTHING is bugged, the hitboxes, both your own and the bullets', PIV, replays, bullet patterns, timeouts, everything.
Obviously I've patched the game for this run. I'm using the no AI patch and the english patch as you can see, but I also have the bullet offset fix, PIV overflow fix and the score uncap patches though you can't see that last one in this run. Thprac also fixes some more more stuff as well.
Not fixing the player hitbox though, honestly feels great to have a 0x0 haxbox. I hope ZUN never fixes that...
