Touhou Flash Game - BEVENTLAED
Alright, time for another Touhou flash game.
This time it's BEVENTLAED!
This game can be found here:

The goal of this game is to clear out UFOs to score as high as you can before your life runs out.
This game is fully mouse-controlled. To clear out UFOs, highlight three of them in a row that are the same color, or one of each color, which you do by clicking on a UFO and, while still holding the mouse button, moving the cursor over the next two in the row. Then, release the mouse button. When you make a match (which can only consist of 3 UFOs in a row at a time), they'll disappear, and more UFOs will eventually fall into the field after a brief period of time. During that time, you can continue making matches to build up a combo to score higher and get greater benefits from the UFOs cleared. The combo ends when the new UFOs arrive (this happens when the "calling UFO!" value shown on the right counts down to zero).
Sometimes, black UFOs will show up, and those cannot be cleared normally, but they will disappear if you make a match involving an adjacent colored UFO. You can also clear all of black UFOs at once by using a bomb.
Now, you have a life value, shown to the lower-right of the field, which is constantly counting down, and if that hits zero, the game ends (the game will start giving warning beeps when it drops below 10.00).
You also have bombs, shown in the lower-left. You can use a bomb by clicking on that bomb panel (only if you have a bomb value of at least 1.00). Bombing clears out black UFOs, but doesn't have any effect on the colored UFOs. Bombing also instantly refills the field with UFOs, but doesn't reset any current combo or the "calling UFO!" value, so you may be able to extend a combo you've got going after bombing if you're fast.
There's a call percentage shown in the upper-left, which gradually counts down. The higher that percentage is, the more colored UFOs will appear, as opposed to black ones, when the field is refilled after making matches. (Note: You'll always get all colored UFOs when the field is refilled from a bomb use.)
Now, aside from scoring points, clearing out UFOs have benefits depending on their colors:
-Matching 3 red UFOs increases your life, which is essential for keeping the game going.
-Matching 3 green UFOs increases your bomb value, up to a maximum of 5.00.
-Matching 3 blue UFOs I think increases the score multiplier of the current combo.
-Matching 1 of each color increases the call percentage, up to a maximum of 100%. Important for minimizing black UFO appearances.
As far as I know, there's no "Extra" mode for this game (correct me if I'm wrong, though). The top option on the title screen starts the game, and I guess the bottom option shows an explanation that's all in Japanese. After a game ends, the top option there restarts the game, and the bottom option returns to the title screen.
I managed to score 15,788,750 points in this game, which I think is pretty good, but there doesn't seem to be a rankings board for this game, so I'm not sure how my score would compare...
This game has a few bugs in it that I think could use some ironing out:
-Occasionally, when I highlight 3 proper UFOs, they just simply don't clear for whatever reason until I try highlighting them again, which usually ruins whatever combo I was in the middle of.
-Also, it's possible to highlight more than 3 UFOs at once, and highlight them in all manner of different directions, but you can only match 3 in a straight line, and only the first 3 you highlighted will be cleared (assuming any get cleared at all), so all of that extra highlighting ability is useless.
-And, maybe this is intentional, but it's possible to click in the gaps between the UFOs and not highlight anything, and that's annoying if you're in a rush while trying to combo or something.
-Finally, if your life hits zero while you're in the middle of a combo, any points gotten during that combo aren't added to your score! Come on, I earned those points!
Another thing: What does "BEVENTLAED" even mean? I believe it's a take on "BEJEWELED", but replacing "JEWEL" with "VENTLA", but what's a "VENTLA"? Also, what's a "PALODY" (referring to the Engrish on the title screen)?
I plan to continue making videos of some other Touhou flash games periodically for a while. If anyone has any suggestions for a Touhou flash game for me to play, I'll consider it, but there are no guarantees. It will kind of depend on whether I like the game enough or not.
