Touhou Mario Version 2 - Super Mario Maker 2 SUPER EXPERT Bullet Hell!
20[REVISITED] Level ID: Q87-KQ6-9DG
This Touhou-inspired bullet hell level is one tough cookie. I have played this one six months ago and I got First Clear on it. This deserves to have its own video here. ;)
Daiyousei, who specializes in bullet hell, made this tough level which is a harder version of her very old Touhou Mario level. Thanks to the Frog Suit powerup, you can maneuver around much faster. But with the Frog Suit, you can only take two hits, and you also lose the ability to swim faster.
There's plenty of bullet barrage that you will need to avoid. Starts off pretty easy, but it gets trickier once the Piranha Plants on rails enter the fray. Get rid of Boom Boom by stomping on his head. The Mechakoopas' barrage will make that section even more convoluted. Upon reaching the horde of Frank Zappa Mechakoopas, quickly swim to the top of the screen as it's the only safe spot from that insane laser assault. The finale of this bullet hell level is the fleet of the elite Koopalings riding on fire copters, followed by the Koopa Prince and then Big Daddy Bowser himself. Just look at the odds stacked against you! It's really difficult to survive around here, but keep dodging to stay alive! The last lifeline is the moon that will appear once you've survived long enough. Make contact with the moon and it's home free.
This is a worthy showcase of a level even if it's difficult that I had to play it again and even if I'd spend a lot of time trying to clear it again. (I spent more time to beat this the first time I played it.) Clever progression of enemies in this level starting from the basic troops all the way to the generals, then the prince, and then the king. Bullet hell levels are somewhat uncommon, but Daiyousei wanted to make a bullet hell level that plays just like a Touhou Project game. She succeeded with that. Good work!
