Playthrough of story mode with Reika. The story mode was added to the PS1 port of this game, and it really shows how much Tecmo cared about it -the cutscenes are all fully voice acted and there are alternate versions of characters that can be used. Case in point with Reika -her first couple of fights use her pre-rendered sprites from the arcade version, but then later on you get to use her pixel art sprites instead. If you keep beating story mode with all the characters you can unlock several alternate versions, all of which are exclusive to this version of the game.

The story mode's difficulty is just as hard as the arcade mode's, thankfully Reika's light kick works just as well here as it does there. If you beat story mode without using a continue it alters the ending slightly -the image at 25:39 only appears if you don't use a continue, as do the credits.

No I don't know why there's a naked mini angel talking to you between fights.
