Found this out by accident.
The idea is to use the SPD-Skill "Vigor" (Circle), enter sniping stance (Circle) and hammer away with that fountain attack (i.e. spam triangle).

Tested on an emergency mission on Ultimate difficulty with only a half-decent bow I happened to be able to make at the beginning of Chapter 13.
