Tour of Kristiansand Day 1 Part 4 University's Busstop - Back Home
Just me riding my bicycle through Kristiansand to test the Kitvision Venture 720p actioncamera. Basically, trying out a GoPro that isn't a GoPro. While it's attached to my bike's handlebar.
This is the continuation of where I left off after walking through the local graveyard, only turning my camera back on after leaving the graveyard. And then I continue on, past the University of Agder, until I get back to the area where I park my bike.
Why am I doing this test? To make sure I bought the right equipment for a future trip to the other side of the world.
And since this is the final part of the test, I can finally give my verdict on the equipment.
In all, there's nothing wrong with the Kitvision Venture 720p actioncamera. It's just that 720p is something you'd expect from a regular YouTube video. And none of these four parts posted on day 1 have been at the same quality as a YouTube video. I was expecting more. Instead I got 1990s photograph quality.
A second thing I am somewhat miffed about, is the built-in battery. I got perhaps half an hour of footage out of a full battery. Already six minutes in, in the first part, I take a short break to check the camera for a second and find that I had used up a third of the battery's power at that point. And since this is a built-in battery, I can't bloody well replace it with a spare battery, now can I?
Luckily, the staff at Elkjøp (the mediastore where I bought this actioncamera) assured me that I had 50 days to bring back the camera if I weren't pleased with it. Which is good for me, since I only bought it yesterday.
