I'm surprised that I managed to make it to the bonus streams this early in the year. I'm not sure if that's quite as unprecedented as I'm making it out to be, but generally speaking, my main line-up of streams will typically keep me busy until the end of June. Yet, I've even managed to get past the SHSLD game and we're only halfway through May. Could this finally be a mythical year where I actually finish up everything before Thanksgiving? ...I doubt it, but let's see how close I get anyway.

First up on the bonus streams is Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure. I'm a little surprised that so many of the games that I put up as extra bonus games managed to make it onto this year's slate of streams -- all but one! -- and it's even more shocking that I'll be starting off with one of them... even if I wasn't the one who actually put it on the final list.

I had heard a lot of good things about this one, so I was excited to play it. After all, when it comes right down to it, the original Dragon Ball rarely gets much attention compared to its sequel... and that's especially true within the realm of video games. This game also showcases the talents of Dimps, best known for their handheld Sonic games on the GBA and DS -- for better and for worse. Considering the mixed reception those games got, it's a bit of a shame that they weren't better known for DB:AA.

I managed to finish the main campaign in a single session -- on "Regular" difficulty -- but considering how that unlocks Krillin as a playable character, I've decided to do a second stream to play through that mode. Granted, I've already gotten a head start there, but considering how I always feel a bit guilty whenever I finish a game in a single session, this should relieve my conscience a little. Dari claims that Krillin's story mode has different cutscenes and even an alternate ending... but so far, I haven't seen a single in-game story sequence. In fact, the mini-games seem to be outright removed. And apparently, Extra Mode also contains a bunch of unlockable characters, so maybe I'll check that out too if I have time.
