Fortunately, I seem to be past the technical hiccups that plagued the first session of this game. That means I can completely focus on grappling with figuring out the gameplay and the story! Of course, tackling both of those are probably going to be way more complex than recreating the screen capture in XSplit for each individual game in this collection... so, really, the worst is yet to come.

Dari advised me to go to Wonderland and Olympus Coliseum for the second and third floors, respectively. Admittedly, saving the other two choices for later seemed like a smarter idea. If the boss fight in Halloween Town is anything like the one in KH1, I'll definitely want to be at a higher level before I even consider tackling it. And while Monstroso's original gimmick was pretty annoying, it's also really the only thing I remember about it. Dari and KI have also both implied that there are going to be additional worlds that aren't currently accessible too. I heard Little Mermaid and Winnie the Pooh mentioned in particular and while Tarzan was taken out due to copyright concerns from the bloodthirsty estate of Edgar Rice Burroughs, the fact that various Peter Pan characters are literally listed by name in the copyright information during the opening logos, I think it's safe to assume that Neverland will also be making an appearance.

This session also led me to finally understand that there's a downside to Premium Cards. While it reduces their Card Points cost, it also seems to mean that they don't automatically reload after use. This feels like a far bigger penalty than any advantages you're given, especially in boss fights. Honestly, I'm beginning to wonder if I should build a second deck: one for standard fights that relies heavily on high-numbered premium cards to quickly end things and one for boss fights that's smaller but exclusively uses standard cards, with plenty of low-number cards that can be sacrificed for combos. Alas, it seems like the game doesn't have the ability to automatically sort decks, so I'd have to essentially build the boss deck from scratch. Right now, that just doesn't seem worth it.

Speaking of which, the boss fights definitely didn't go as expected this time around. The card soldiers mid-boss in Wonderland was easy enough, but the Trickmaster was definitely the most troublesome boss I've faced thus far. On the plus side, I did learn that you don't lose progress when continuing after losing a boss fight. Cloud also totally kicked my ass the first time around, but that's mostly because I didn't realize that he too was relying on Sleights. As for Hades, well, I managed to beat him on my first try -- thanks to some helpful pre-battle advice from Dari. He also said that I was lucky that Donald didn't screw me over by casting a fire spell on him with the final blow though. Honestly, I honestly summoned him to heal me... but finishing off the boss was a welcome decision.

I've got a family function on Sunday, so I might be taking my next session off. Honestly, it really depends on how I end up feeling when everything's said and done. I can't deny that since I'm essentially staring down the barrel of tandem campaigns for Re:Chain of Memories, there's a small part of me that wants to push through and get things done as quickly as possible. The problem is that there's an even bigger part of me that wouldn't mind a night off. And the fact that I'm temporarily moving to a thrice-weekly schedule for this game alone only makes taking a breather that much more tempting. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.
