0:00 Exploring Farlen
There is a dig site on the SW part of the island, where you can start a sidequest with an archaelogist. In Farlen Port City (SE part of island), you can talk to your party members for optional dialogue. To continue the story, go to Harwyn Estate.
8:24 Shady Deal
In the inn, you should talk to the cloaked man, who offers to cover your fare back to New Sporgel if you get him a treasure from the Haunted Cave. Unfortunately, some jackhole working for Belkas Swordhand isn't letting anyone into the cave. To remedy this, talk to the green-haired man, Arne, at the dig site to convince him to go to the Haunted Cave. Once you return, you'll find Belkas and his allies retreating.
14:32 Haunted Cave
On the second map, don't talk to the gray NPC until you're ready. I thought he was a statue, but he's actually a boss. Also, I got indecisive and went back to the surface, just to complete some steps for the sidequest. The hermit's house now has an NPC who got spooked by something in the cave. You then have to talk to the archaeologist to get him to move into the cave, and somehow past the boss before I actually beat him.
23:42 Boss: Amon'Quel
As long as you come into the battle with full MP, you should be able to outlast him and his rodent friends easily.
27:14 Sigil of Arman Gill
In the floor below, you can talk to the archaelogist and talk to the rock in order to open a path to a tough optional boss. I decided to save that one for later due to its difficulty.
Once you take the Sigil of Arman Gill and leave, you'll have to go through a rolling rock escape sequence, with only one chance to find a chest on the way out.
Unfortunately, the cloaked man is nowhere to be found in Harwyn Estate, and one of the NPCs states that the man moved to the port city. At the port city, another NPC states that the cloaked man moved to the northeast tower.
31:25 Elric the Ranger
On the way to the tower, you'll run into a wounded archer, Elric, who can be recruited if you give him a Dwarven Spirit. He was injured by the cloaked man while searching for answers about his father's death. With this, you can swap out party members at the books, but inactive members will not get EXP. :(
37:18 Arman's Tower
Virgil manages to activate the tower's entrance, but his arm gets stuck in a vortex. Bruger pulls him out, but this causes Virgil's arm to be pulled off, forcing him into inactive status. Better start grinding Elric so he can keep up with everyone.
Throughout the tower, you'll get flashbacks to past events during the Validian Empire's reign. You'll see things from the perspective of the Heroes of Light in their battles against Maultor. At the top, the party will take the keystone fragments, causing Warpriest Amon'Quel to challenge them once again.
1:02:54 Boss: Amon'Quel
He has no minions, but he's somewhat stronger than before.
1:05:53 The Children of Light
The cloaked man appears and explains that he's a Watcher. He shows us a flashback of Eldromus resurfacing from the Abyss and killing Arman, Amon'quel, and Ledonel. Turns out Cael Vaeli's idea of cursing him rather than properly killing him was a huge mistake. Who could have predicted this? /sarcasm.
The party is actually made up of members of the Children of Light, who are destined to find the keystones. Unfortunately, Eldromus and the Gauf want to use those keystones to revive Maultor and restore the tyrannical Validian Empire.
Also, the Watcher will heal Virgil's arm, allowing you to use him again.
1:14:20 Boss: Fallen
This boss is way stronger than Amon'Quel and if you don't have the correct status and elemental resistance gear, you'll have to rely on a combination of RNG and grinding. The boss has AOE water and confusion skills, which can be hard to survive. However, the boss has fairly low HP, so if you can last long enough to launch enough lightning and ice spells, you can win. I recommend returning later to eliminate the RNG factor.
