Tower of Keys - Complete Playthrough
5I have been a Super Mario fan my entire life, so when Nintendo announced 'Super Mario Maker' I was STOKED. An opportunity to make and play our own Mario levels?? It was a dream come true. I played Maker on WiiU for 6 months straight after release, and when Maker 2 came out I was just as hooked. The foundation of my Twitch channel was built with Maker 2 as most of my community formed out of our combined passion for the game.
Fast forward a little bit, and Mario Maker 2 is slowly fading into the past. With less buzz and player interest I started to branch out and try other things.
With SMW rom hacks growing in popularity I decided it was time to try something different.... and my very first attempt was 'The Tower of Keys'. Now in retrospect - this was a poor launching point XD The mechanics that are the basis of this hack were a steep learning curve for me, and I ultimately needed to abandon ship for other, less complicated designs. I always knew I would return to this one day, and for this story alone I needed to share my clear.
The final 2 sections of this playthrough were trimmed a little as I didn't think 10 mins of grinding the same trick would make for good viewing. This hack will always have a special place in my heart because it's the very first I tried, but it's BRUTAL in it's learning curve. I hope you enjoy the show :)
