Today I'm taking a look at Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter – the lovingly remastered remake of the Nihon Falcom classic – and playing it in the Switch version, but on my Nintendo Switch 2. I want to find out how the game feels today: story, graphics, and performance – especially under modern conditions.
The adventure takes us to the kingdom of Liberl, where the lively Estelle and her somewhat mysterious brother Joshua are traveling. Together with the Bracers, we experience a mix of personal stories and political intrigue, meet many interesting characters, and explore cities, ruins, and wild landscapes – all newly translated into 3D, with updated designs and a charming character art style.
