Train Simulator 2019: Meanwhile, in the North East (Part 1 - Darlington to Eaglescliffe)
Several of the reskins I have made in Rolling Line have appeared in videos by a YouTuber called Frantic. I've been watching his videos for at least a month now, and I remember him saying he's from Middlesbrough.
Then I got the idea to do this run in Train Simulator. This scenario is set in 2003, and we are tasked with driving a Class 142 Pacer - in Arriva Trains Northern livery - on a passenger service from Darlington to Middlesbrough. Along the way we call at Dinsdale, Allens West, Eaglescliffe, Thornaby and Middlesbrough. The route is East Coast Mainline North East, which is a modern version of the original East Coast Mainline route, and is available on DP Simulation's website. The Pacer train that I'm driving is available from Armstrong Powerhouse.
Due to the terrible frame rates, I decided to split this video into two parts. Part 1 covers the section from Darlington to Eaglescliffe, the latter of which is just down the line from the junction to Hartlepool. I ended up stopping at a red signal just outside Eaglescliffe, but luckily I wasn't stopped for too long.
