Disclaimer: Do not hit solid wood until proper conditioning is completed, also, do not hit overly hard. This exercise should only be done once per week, at other times, proper rubber should be installed over the post.

In this video, I go into the benefits of a training post, and common pitfalls that often surround the punching bag. Please note, the punching bag is great for boxing training, but even still, proper form should always be observed. Do not ever displace an adversary, or someone you feel might be guilty of an offense onto a bag. One word: ED.

This creates a psychological feedback loop that can result in a number of problems. Thus, punching bags are great if proper form is observed, however, many martial artists recommend the training post for this reason, as if proper form is not observed, pain is the result.
