How To:
I used a combination of all these recipes. they're all very similar, to mix and match to make your own!
Shea Butter Deodorant Ingredients
3 T Coconut Oil (1.5T jojoba or Almond oil as a replacement)
3 T Baking Soda
1oz-2oz Shea Butter (2oz for firmer)
2 T Arrowroot (optional) or organic cornstarch
Essential Oils (optional)
Version 2
1oz Coconut oil
1oz Shea butter
.4oz (1/8c) Carrier Oil
.4oz (1/8c) Beeswax
.5oz Arrowroot powder
.5oz Diatomaceous Earth – Food Grade!
5 drops of Vitamin E
20-25 drops of essential oils
Double boiler for liquids, remove from heat add powders, Vit E & essential oils
And Another!
⅓ (2.66oz) cup coconut oil
2 Tbs baking soda
1/3 cup arrowroot powder
10 – 15 essential oils (optional)
ANOTHER
3oz Shea Butter
2 tablespoons baking soda
6 tablespoons arrowroot powder
30-60 drops essential oil
In a deep bowl, mix baking soda and arrowroot powder (or cornstarch together). Using your hands or a fork, work in the shea butter until it looks like very crumbly dough. Add in essential oil if using and then whip the deodorant together using a hand mixer. It will seem too dry at first and you’ll wonder if it’s really going to come together, but it will. You do need a deep bowl, though, because in the initial stage of mixing you don’t want the powder to go over the side of the bowl. Transfer to a clean glass jar
