Treasure Chest World Record Progression in 1 Night - 1-2 Switch on Nintendo Switch 2
03 of us found this minigame very late in the night and kept grinding the time down to end a 12 hour gaming LAN party. For 2 hours we played this game, taking turns 1v1ing each other and improving a lot. By the end of the night, it felt like I was averaging 18 second completions without the technique I used in the final attempt. I'm sure this run is beatable, but I still think it is really good and lucky. The tips below will help anyone beat it.
This run is fast for 3 reasons:
1. I got 8 free chains because there were 2 top facing rectangles while the chest was top facing. The game instantly completes chains that are next in line when they are already completable, which makes sense, but there is a phenomenon where the chest wraps nicely around itself and makes all 4 visible at once. This might be consistent and abusable idk.
2. I only moved the controller away from me, which is a result of nice chest RNG. When you have to alternate forward and backward or left and right, you lose time from backtracking.
3. My technique. In an easy chest, instead of having to roll the chest over horizontally, the corners will all be reachable by peeking at the sides or continuing to turn the chest vertically and peeking at the side later. In this run I get 2 red chains, but am able to find them instead of having to backtrack. I didn't employ this as my sole strat during the run, but just doing this could probably be a 10 second run or something if you want to mindlessly grind it out.
