Welcome back to my Trepang 2 playthrough! In this episode, we launch a daring assault on Horizon Headquarters. After TF27 revealed Horizon's secret information to the public, the company faced major problems. Various companies withdrew their support, mutual partners severed ties, the stock market plummeted, and the FBI and law enforcement began investigating the leaked report. A bounty was placed on Horizon's CEO, Anton Lazer, and many employees resigned. This marked Horizon Corp.'s lowest period.
We begin our attack underneath the bridge leading up to the tower, planting charges on the bridge and generators to prevent reinforcements and cut power. Once we detonate the explosives, we move along the bridge and up to the building, where we are joined by TF27 operatives. After several skirmishes inside, we ascend the tower, taking out more of Horizon's forces and uncovering secrets about our past, Horizon's projects, and the Syndicate's doings.
At the top of the building, we come face to face with Anton Lazer, bound to a hospital bed inside a bulletproof cage. He is attempting to upload his consciousness to several external brains. We must destroy the external brains to prevent the upload, facing waves of enemies in the process. A helicopter appears, and we must destroy it before it completes the upload. Once we destroy the helicopter, we break into the bulletproof cage and finally finish off Anton Lazer, bringing an end to Horizon.
However, upon returning to the safe house, we are betrayed. The Syndicate director and remaining TF27 operatives turn on us, as we are no longer of use. They knock us out with gas, and we realize we were pawns in their scheme. We recall memories of other Cycles: Anton Lazer was Cycle 78, the Patriarch was Cycle 91, Dr. Emerson was Cycle 95, and 105 was sent to rescue us initially. We are tasked with Breaking the Cycle.
We wake up about to be put into an incinerator, break our bonds, and begin fighting off the remaining forces of the Syndicate and TF27. The director awakens a new cycle, Cycle 107, with super speed, agility, and extended invisibility. After several encounters, 107 cuts off our left hand, severely limiting our combat abilities. Despite this, we push through to a final showdown in the Syndicate's basement, which contains a nuclear bomb. We defeat Cycle 107 and activate the bomb, finally breaking the Cycle.
