"Try Again" by HugusTheNoob {All Coins} | Geometry Dash 2.11
1,073I've never heard of HugusTheNoob before, so I was pleasantly surprised to see this level being so good. Sure, you don't need to be known to make a good level, but I do hear about most up and coming creators. Playing a level of this quality from an unknown name is therefore quite rare. As you may be able to tell, this is a remake of the most liked level in the game, ReTraY by DiMaViKuLov26, and it does a very good job at that. The color scheme, most gamemodes, and some structuring are kept, but it uses 2.1 features to improve upon that. There is more detail found in every part, and the level is also way harder. I think this will be 7 stars. I have some minor complaints about the level, such as the transition at 0:40 being a bit too sudden and that the following Wave part drags on a bit. Changing the gamemode and visuals at 0:47 would make it perfect. Still, though, this is a fantastic remake of a classic level that I think deserves an Epic rating. HugusTheNoob does have 4 Creator Points from before, but those 2 levels don't even have 40K downloads together. This definitely deserves to get more than that!
- OVERALL COIN RATING -
Gold. 3/4. The coins in this level have clear effort put into them, and it requires a lot of effort to get them for the player as well. They prove to be a cool extra challenge.
- 1st coin: Gold. In the UFO section starting at 0:13, you need to collect 3 heart collectibles, which are all very difficult to get. The timings to reach them and then return to the normal route are very precise. Once you've got that down, the coin is unlocked at 0:23. For a level of this difficulty, these collectibles are definitely hard enough, and the fact that there are 3 collectibles make it good enough for a low Gold rating.
- 2nd coin: Gold. This coin is the coolest of the three, but I wish it was a bit harder to do. At 0:34 and 0:38, you have to take the tight paths and push 2 blocks down, killing the monsters at the bottom. This unlocks the coin. The way he animated this looks great, and it's also difficult to figure this out. However, taking these alternate routes is quite easy, especially compared to the first coin's difficulty. I'd like to see the coin be unlocked in an alternate and harder route in a later part to add some more overall difficulty to the coin.
- 3rd coin: Silver. Compared to the other coins, this one is very simple, but it's still somewhat difficult to find and get. At 0:02, you can see a green glitter star flying by if you're paying attention, and you need to touch this by jumping to unlock the coin. The coin is unlocked at 1:05, tying nicely in with the beginning of the level as it has similar gameplay and another glitter star for the coin itself. Doing the jump to reach this coin is actually much harder than it may look. I failed this 3 times in normal mode before recording this successful attempt. I moves down and starts moving up again really fast, so you need to jump to hit it exactly at the moment it's at its lowest. This coin could have had a bit more to it as it's only 2 extra jumps, but the first one can be hard to notice and the second one takes some extra skill, and how they tie nicely together make it fine for a Silver rating.
