This version adds a new mode called adaptive where monsters scale up with the player instead of the level. That might be useful in some cases, but I had a different expectation about a specific thing (which I also rant about at the end).

My thinking was that if you reach near the end and your character is say level 33, then instead of finishing the game you could press the button that lets you warp back to map 1 and replay the same thing from the beginning, but this time I realized the enemies were level 1. My failed expectation was that they will continue to follow the player's level after the warp so now they are level 33 and you can replay the game 3-4 times like it's NG+ or NG++ or NG+++ reaching extremely high levels (it's a mindless grind level addiction anyway but this is the way I thought it should work to be useful, else even playing the second mode you will scale with the monsters anyway).

The other thing I noticed, and I saw in the video. If as a level 1 character I warp to say map29 with the option of the monsters scaling to the level and not the character, now I have to fight level29 monsters which is fine by me, because my expectation was that if I barely mange to kill one or two by seer luck, then I will see my XP and level jump to the roof instantly (so from level 1 character I might go to level 2-3-4 and 10 very very fast, because monsters have extreme XP for my low level). This would be similar to when in multiplayer Borderlands, a level 5 character joins a team of level 50 players, they fight level 50 monsters for you, and you see a very funny thing of Level Up Level Up Level Up Level Up instantaneously. Here of course it's single player, but I had the opportunity to grind very hard enemies and instagain quite many XP and levels, but somehow the green level bar doesn't reflect that. This is strange, maybe a bug? But it could be a bug because I typed IDCLEV and that breaks the mod, and you are not supposed to do this. You can only use the warp, but since you haven't reached that level yet, this doesn't happen. I don't know. In that sense, the two different game options won't be much different as in the option of monsters being strong with the map number, you'd have to speedrun and play pacifist to lack behind. In both game modes, the player level will be roughly analogous to the monster level. I hope that makes sense..
