Old viewers may recognise that this is... basically my Season 6 build. I didn't do YouTube back then, but I mentioned it on occasion and still continued to play it when doing "On-hit" Thresh, especially when there was a LOT less burst then.
Spirit rounds out Thresh's bad magic resistance while increasing heals from Blade of the Ruined King's damage and on-hit effects, that are also applying with Runaan's Hurricane's bolts, alongside Thresh's on-hit Soul damage.
It's a simple concept that is a bit pricey and squishy, but when complete, solves a lot of his issues like magic damage vulnerability, sustain, chase/peel, and waveclear. There are more consistent ways to reach these things nowadays (Titanic Hydra for simpler durability/waveclear in one item, Sunfire for waveclear, Jak'Sho or Force of Nature for magic resistance), but this is one powerful build when it works.

I remembered how much I liked Runaan's after using it a bunch in Arena vs Heimer and such, and did a bunch of good games with it off stream, then turned on stream and after a terrible game one, we had this game thereafter.
