TSW3 Peak Forest Railway Introduction
No talking.. No Music.. Back to trains... The Peak Forest Railway DLC for TSW3 made me break my rules. I have owned and played Railworks, Train Simulator, Trains Sim World 1, 2 and 3 while 95% of the time ignoring DLC till they went on sale. This one though, after seeing some videos, I just gave up the money and purchased it. The scenery looks full and in the 60's era I lived through and enjoyed. Everything just looks right. Cats on a platform, old people sitting on the benches reading the news paper.. wooden fences and brick walls everyplace. a glory to behold. Nuff said.. this is just the introduction once you get it installed.
My first ten years or so of life was the last house on the street, right across from a siding yard in Chicago that pretty much resembled the start of this scenario with the exception of Coal/Coke hills in the background instead of real hills, we use to play on and then get whooped for being so dirty when we got home. It was a slow, very slow side line. I probably seen every type train available in the area in those days come chugging by quietly. Putting the penny on the tracks for a flatter and better look was a normal thing to do. They ran empty boxcars that seemed to me, about a mile long, mostly with doors wide open. at the slow speed of 5 mph or so, we could jump on them and ride down to the park a few miles away. When I got into my early teens and still living in the neighborhood, instead of hiding a bike, we would ride the boxcars down to the Drive-In and climb the hill to watch a free movie in the kids swing area. These where the days my friends. I wished had never end.. but times march on.
