I favour 3.5. It lets you play pretty much anything you can think of at all. Pathfinder is similar but has a bit less craziness since it hinges on archetypes rather than making multiclassing and prestige classes interesting. Archetypes are a bit less customizable ultimately.

4e. We don't talk about 4e. 5th is kind of OK but I don't really feel like it's actually better than 3.5 so I just don't want to learn it.
