Turkey successfully test-fires the BVRAAM Gökdoğan missile
83Head of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, in his statement on his social media account, announced that the Gökdoğan beyond-sight air-to-air missile was launched with a radar seeker head. In addition, Demir stated that the Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan missiles will be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces this year. Demir, who made statements on the subject,
“Gökdoğan will strike the invisible. Our Gökdoğan Beyond Vision Missile, one of our national air-to-air missiles, whose tests are continuing within the scope of our Göktuğ project, fired with a radar seeker and completed an important stage. We will deliver our Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan missiles to the Turkish Armed Forces this year. I congratulate everyone who contributed to this holiday gift we gave to our nation.”
İsmail Demir, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, met with television and newspaper representatives in Ankara to convey the 2021 evaluation and 2022 projects. Describing the targets for 2022, SSB President Demir announced that the first deliveries will be made in the domestic and national air-to-air missile project. Air-Air missile systems developed by TUBITAK SAGE within the scope of GÖKTUĞ Project will be included in the inventory.

Gökdoğan beyond-sight and Bozdoğan in-sight air-to-air missiles, which are planned to replace the AIM-120 AMRAAM infrared and AIM-9 Sidewinder in-sight air-to-air missiles used by Turkey in warplanes, are being developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE.
