Delivery of T129 Atak Helicopter to Gendarmerie General Command
The new T129 Atak Helicopters developed by TAI were delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command. Announcing the development on his official Twiter account, President of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. Ismail Demir,
“ We continue to add new ones to our soldiers in the sky! Finally, we delivered our T129 ATAK Helicopters to the Gendarmerie General Command.”
In this context, the 11th Atak Helicopter was delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command in March 2022. Previously, T-129 ATAK FAZ-2 was delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command in December 2021 (10th), 2021 November (9th), October (8th) and August (7th).
With the order given by the Presidency of Defense Industries, it was announced that a total of 18 T129 ATAK helicopters would be delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command aviation units. However, in the report shared by the Gendarmerie General Command in March 2021, the number was increased to 24.
Within the scope of the T129 ATAK project carried out by the Presidency of Defense Industries, 72 ATAK helicopters produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries-TUSAŞ to date have been delivered to the security forces. TAI delivered at least 56 helicopters (5 of which are Phase-2) to the Land Forces Command, 13 Phase-2 helicopters to the Gendarmerie General Command, and 3 ATAK Phase-2 helicopters to the General Directorate of Security. 21 units of the ATAK FAZ-2 configuration, for which the first deliveries have been made, will be delivered in the first stage.
