An old recorded, real time video of me playing around with my NSX on "Need For Speed: Payback" when I was really heavy into it back in and around 2019. However, this video is always something I seem to keep coming back to. I can't get over how good the sounds were for this game, as the NFS franchise (in my opinion) has always had some of the best car sounds through out any racing games in history, lackluster physics aside this is one of the charms that makes NFS enjoyable to me. For those of you, who have never played Payback it is an open world racing game that in some ways picks up on the freedom aspect of what Need For Speed Hot Pursuit should've had, without being anything like it. I feel as if it was a nice touch on bringing back the street racing scene and popular parts that were otherwise not glamorized in video games that the general community wanted the most; Small details that matter. The NSX in specific has one of the best sounds in the game to me. It's a very hard car to nail, I feel like being very unique in design there's really nothing else like it that you can substitute it for, and it's almost as if you're standing next to a real one if you have a good enough pair of headphones or surround sound. This is what I found myself doing most in Payback, after actually completing it and seeing what else it had to offer as a modern, user friendly multiplayer, free roam racing game. For this reason, I'd say it's worth the play if you've never touched it. Games you can go back and enjoy after the story line are almost none existent today. This makes up for it, with an arsenal of cars with identical engine sounds that'll keep you sound clipping for hours.
