Turok 2 : Seeds of Evil - 100% Walkthrough Guide, 'HARD DIFFICULTY NO AUTO-AIM', Level 6 Part 7
Turok 2, one of the most original blood-thirsty shoot 'em-ups ever released on any platform! Played on an original N64 (PAL) cartridge this Level 6 The Primagen's Lightship Part 7/10 of a campaign on the hardest difficulty setting with no auto-aim used plus with the Expansion Pak used for better graphics and tougher enemy A.I as you'll see! There's heavy bloodshed in every segment!
These uploads aren't designed to show any speed or prowess for the game, but for enjoyment, nostalgia, to show that the N64 was/is still awesome even 16 years after this game's release plus to show the game is completable even on the hardest setting, and help out any other Turok'ing fans out there who may be stuck somewhere. This game actually had me fully puzzled until 2012, well I could get to level 5 but never finish it when I was younger! 've only completed this level 2x before ever!
This will prove an invaluable guide to anyone (first-time novices or semi-experienced players) stuck on ANY part of the game as 100% gets completed using various tactics such as sniping, circle-strafing round corners and enemies, and knowing the locations of all the weapons and mission objectives.
Every Sacred Eagle Feather/Talismans and Nuke Pieces from the Flesh Portals are collected too. So the game is 100% completed. On "Hard" with no auto-aim. Which on this level makes killing very quickly a harder job than usual.
The walkthrough is segmented for a few reasons, you all know the drill by now with this run/100% walkthrough, N64's can have a tendency to freeze at exactly the wrong time (NEVER is a good time lol) especially when a high data load is being processed with the Expansion Pak. Mine froze too many times (despite the cover being off for more effective cooling) during long recordings so I decided to start over and segment them. They are uncut recordings too and all follow on EXACTLY from the location the previous one ended. Segmenting also makes upload times a lot quicker for me too.
So, for both ease of viewing between each save point and allowing me time to get a drink between the save-points, I hope this will help any players stuck view a specific part. This will become particularly handy in this level as there're save points in each quad of the lightship and the very first one is readily accessible between sections so this level has many segments! The final part is dedicated to the Mother Boss!
All the segments are very small except part 8/10 which contains "the meat" of the level, literally - the HUGE flesh portal is in part 8/10. A few of the segments show my tactics that anyone can use to beat this level - after finishing each quad, go round the central part of the main room, stock up on ammo and health, get the ultra health and always make a quick backtrack to save point no.1 and save with 200 health ready for the next part. This is purely a tactic anyone stuck can employ to beat this level and the game!
Covered in Level 6 Part 7 - Starting again from save point no.3 (minus the 1 Ion Capacitor needed for the 3rd "Power Generator Recalibrated" mission which came back to bite me in the ass) I quickly go and get the 4th Ion Capacitor needed for the recalibration mission, yet again 2 epic fails at the 3rd power generator thanks to the burning red lasers, again (kept the deaths in for ironic comedy value), but that's now the hardest and worst bit of the level over! The rest is VERY fun! If I was alert when recording the previous segment (6/10) then this part wouldn't have been needed, but I guess showing the dangers and fails etc is all part of a 100% walkthrough! I make my way back to the central room, get my 200 health and full ammo, and save at the nearby save point no.1 ready for the best part of the level!
Weapons - Talon, Bow, Pistol, Shotgun, Tek Bow, Mag 60, Shredder, Plasma Rifle, Grenade Launcher, War Blade, Charge Dart Rifle, Firestorm Cannon, Flamethrower, PFM Layer, Cerebral Bore, Scorpion Missile Launcher, Harpoon Gun, Torpedo Launcher, Razor Wind. The NUKE in the next segment!!
After this level and defeating the Mother Boss I go and revisit levels 5, 3 and 1 and collect their Primagen Keys then go at it in the slugfest royale against the Primagen himself!
This is definitely one of the hardest 2 levels in terms of navigation, enemy damage given and death by falling off ledges! Still segmenting for the purposes of the walkthrough/playthrough is mandatory for the amateur/intermediate level player like myself and the hardest level is up next! I may do a speedrun of this game once this walkthrough is completed... and if I get better... N64 games rule!! :)
I hope my guide so far has been good and/or entertaining and that as the uploads from Level 6 are up that someone somewhere along the way will have been helped - we're near the end of the game now and I hope it inspires all Turok'ing fans of all abilities to start a new campaign and let the shredding never end!
