FYI that you DO need to have a new layer loaded for the stroke menu to be selectable and not greyed out, the brush stroke needs the layer to apply itself to, in case anyone has trouble with that. I forgot to mention it in the video. Otherwise, you wouldn't normally need to load layers to use the pen tools to create shapes or paths, they make their own when you use them. Remember to check the community tab for art tutorials that don't make it to video but are available for you to grab.
