Typhoon will disrupt TSMC Semiconductors - AI & Gaming, NVIDIA | TheNickyNuke
Typhoon Gaemi is a powerful storm that is currently making its way towards Taiwan. It is currently equivalent to a Category 4 hurricane with fears that it may turn as strong as a category 5 hurricane. That’s a serious typhoon.
Why would you care about what is happening on a remote island in the South-China Sea? Because the island of Taiwan has become synonymous with advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The island nation is home to the world's largest and most technologically advanced chip foundry, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
The meteoritic rise of the stock market darling NVIDIA would not be possible without Taiwan’s Semi-conductor industry.
Indeed Taiwan’s semiconductor manufacturing has changed the face of the world. Without that industry there would not be NVIDIA RTX chips that power our games. Taiwan also manufactures the chips that drive the current AI industry revolution. Intel, AMD, the car industries, etc… all need the chips made on this small island.
The actor Peter Stormare is right. This typhoon has the chance to disrupt the global supply chain of chips and could cause some serious concern on the stock market that has experience an unprecedented boost from AI driven industries supplied by Taiwan’s semiconductors.
If the typhoon turns out to be a serious one, its projected path is that the typhoon will pass through or nearly pass through Taiwan’s semiconductor valley, the Hsinchu Science Park, where TSMC is located.
In the worst case scenario, the current Typhoon may cause a serious challenge to these essential industries. However, if there is an impact on the global supply chain of chips, it will not be a long one. Taiwan is well aware of the chip industries importance to its own economy as well as the global economy that it won’t allow that industry to suffer for long.
So, my fellow gamers and AI enthusiasts, thank you for watching this video. Let’s hope this typhoon won’t cause any serious damage and let’s stay excited about the future innovations that will continue to drive the world of AI and Gaming.
