Ubisoft's 'Star Wars' game might not be released until 2023.
The video game developer announced an open-world game based on the hit sci-fi film franchise last year and have now hinted the game won't be available to play until 2023 or even later.
In a recent earnings calls to investors, Ubisoft were asked about a possible release date for the game and whether it might not launch until 2023 or later.
Ubisoft exec Frederick Duguet said: "We didn’t mention any specific dates. The game is at an early stage of development, so we will have to wait a bit before telling you more about timing."
The news of the new game suggests Disney have ended their 10-year agreement with EA to exclusively make games of 'Star Wars'.
The two companies made that deal in 2013 and EA has gone on to release a number of 'Star Wars' games, including 'Star Wars: Squadrons' and 'Star Wars Battlefront'.
However, if Ubisoft wait to release their upcoming feature it will ensure EA get their full 10-year deal before the expiration date.
