some updates landed that make google chrome run better on Xmir, it used to blink while resizing the window. default the apps run with Xmir. if you want to run native, add "X-Ubuntu-Touch=True" to the app .desktop file. to install unity8 on ubuntu 16.04 see this script https://github.com/ubports/unity8-desktop-install-tools
