Ubuntu 26.04 LTS "Resolute Raccoon" Daily Build is HERE!
8Get your first look at the next Long-Term Support release from Canonical! The first functional daily build ISOs for Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, codenamed "Resolute Raccoon," are now available to download and test.
In this video, we break down what this means for the development cycle, what's inside this first build, and what exciting features to expect over the next six months.
As of October 2025, these first "Resolute Raccoon" builds are based on the recent Ubuntu 25.10 "Questing Quokka." They currently ship with the Linux 6.17 kernel and the new GNOME 49 desktop environment. We'll also cover the exciting roadmap leading to the final April 2026 release, including the planned upgrades to the Linux 6.19 kernel (or maybe even 6.20!), the Mesa 25.3 graphics stack, and the highly-anticipated GNOME 50 desktop.
Ubuntu 26.04 LTS is a Long-Term Support release, meaning it will receive free security patches and updates for 5 years, all the way until April 2031.
⚠ ️ WARNING: This is an unstable, pre-release daily build. It is NOT recommended for your main computer or any production work. Please test in a virtual machine (VM) or on spare hardware.
