In this tutorial we build a Decayed Guardian from The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. It includes a Guardian body, a rotating head actor component, custom pawn sensing, a sniper beam laser targeting particle system, and a projectile launching component. All of these Actor Components are made to work together using AI Controllers, Behavior Tree Tasks, Behavior Tree Services and Behavior Tree Blackboard Based Decorator nodes. This is an intermediate tutorial but if you follow carefully even a dog could make it. Well maybe not but hey that's something I'd like to see.

Covered in this tutorial:
- Build a basic noob guardian body from starter content
- Setup an AI Controller, Behavior Tree and Blackboard (system covered in part 1 of this series)
- Setup Pawn Sensing
- Build a guardian sniper beam Behavior Tree Task (includes sniper particle system, ticking countdown, and projectile launching)
- Setup a dynamic eye material that turns red when attacking the player
- Create a rotating Behavior Tree Task to look for the player while not in combat
- A demonstration of my own spastic guardian stalker

About this channel

I'm an Australian solo developer who loves making mysterious adventure games. My tutorials focus on blueprints, artificial intelligence, random generation, and multiplayer, and are designed for both beginner and experience Unreal Engine developers . My videos are not short because short videos to grab attention are often superficial, contain poor habits and practices, and I feel are rehearsed and carefully scripted in a way that feels inhuman and artificial. My tutorials by comparison and long, comprehensive, and often contain mistakes which we diagnose and correct as we go along. I try to keep it real, have fun, and do my best to teach you the art of game development as a whole rather than just technical information. It's my intention to have you come away from my tutorials feeling more confident, empowered, creative, inspired, and like you've got a friend and mentor who is here to help you in whatever way he can along your Unreal journey.

Thanks for tuning in, wishing you a fun, creative, and productive day.

Love Jackson 💕
