UFO Extraterrestrials Gold is a game that tries to recapture the spirit of the classic X-Com aka UFO: Enemy Unknown.

The game revolves around repelling an alien invasion of humanity's new home after they were driven off by the aliens. The game is divided into strategic and tactical sections. The former involves base building, research and intercepting UFOs. The latter involves turn based squad combat against the aliens on the ground after crashing their UFO.

I've been playing it a bit more since the last part and I've made some significant progress. It's grown on me quite a bit since the first attempt.
