The use of nuclear weapons would be a "losing move" for Russia, according to a defence analyst, as Moscow suffers setbacks in the Ukraine war.

Marion Messmer, Senior Research Fellow from Chatham House provides in-depth analysis of the nuclear weapons that Russia possesses, and the likelihood of their use saying "there would be immense repercussions from the international community", if Vladimir Putin were to turn to nuclear weapons.

Ms Messmer added that Mr Putin would have to expect "some sort of a military response" from the US and/or NATO.
