I have been playing the SMB1 stages of Ultimate NES Remix to optimize them and improve as much as I could.
This game has the physics of the original SMB1, which are very different from the physics of the Mario Maker style of SMB1. It also has an input display for the replays, so you can see exactly what inputs I did.
Flagpole glitch or bullet bill glitch aren't useful here because the game counts them as a Miss (this was tested by Andrewg, player who dominated SMB1 speedrunning for a long time, who also discussed with me about many stages).
Leaderboards: https://cyberscore.me.uk/group/1505/8923 (also https://www.speedrun.com/ultimate_nes_remix_3ds but there are way less submissions there from the top players).

All these are the current WR times. Explanations:

0:00 Stage 1 in 18.2
The most important thing here is optimizing the subworld. I got a really good one in this run, which is needed for 18.2.

0:37 Stage 2 in 5.9
The levels 2 and 4 are the hard ones to optimize in this stage. Level 2 looks really good, and level 4 looks good too but I believe I could improve it to get a 5.8 or maybe 5.7.

1:11 Stage 3 in 4.0
I did the fast acceleration trick on the first 2 levels to save some time, and also hopped on the Goombas very quickly on level 3.

1:42 Stage 4 in 26.0
On level 1 I turn around intentionally for a little bit to spawn a fourth Goomba at the start. I do the same on level 2 to spawn a piranha plant on the pipe and save time. The turnaround on level 2 needs to be longer to actually spawn the piranha.

2:32 Stage 5 in 6.6
One of the easiest ones. Everything is pretty much just hold right, and there's not any very precise jump.

3:11 Stage 6 in 4.7
Levels 2 and 4 are the hardest to optimize here. To get these 2 fast hits on level 4, the first hit has to be at the very bottom of the Parakoopa.

3:43 Stage 7 in 4.0
On level 1 I did fast acceleration again to save some time. To optimize level 3 I landed on the very left side of the pipe and jumped immediately to hit the block with the vine.

4:15 Stage 8 in 8.8
I landed on the very left side of the moving platform to activate it very early, and the last jump barely got the coins needed for 35.

4:40 Stage 9 in 5.8
Probably the weirdest stage, because of how weird this trick is here. I don't know exactly what I did, so you can just look at the input display.

5:03 Stage 10 in 2.5
The main thing here is optimizing the Lakitu kill on level 2.

5:30 Stage 11 in 15.6
On level 2 I got the 1up instantly by jumping in a pretty precise way clipping the corner of the block. Level 3 is very interesting, and Andrewg found a timesave by clipping on a pipe to pushed further on the screen to later be able to keep the 1up spawned while being as further right on the screen as possible to get the 1up quicker at the end (if you scroll the screen too much to the right, the 1up will despawn as soon as it's not visible on the screen).

6:11 Stage 12 in 20.3
I did fast accelerations on all levels here to save time.

7:04 Stage 13 in 6.2
I hit the block on the very left side on level 1, clipping on it and later jumping with speed.

7:36 Stage 14 in 9.4
Mostly water movement optimization. On level 4 I go a bit to the left at the start to then build momentum to the right.

8:14 Stage 15 in 20.8
On level 1 I do a fast acceleration at the start to save time. Level 2 is about entering the pipe as soon as the piranha allows it (hitboxes are messed up in SMB1), and level 3 is about optimizing the water room of 8-4.

9:00 Stage 16 in 5.4
Level 2 is the hardest here to optimize, because killing the 2 Cheep Cheeps at the bottom that way is very precise. Level 3 is mostly about shooting the last piranha as soon as it can be damaged (which is not as soon as it starts coming out of the pipe).

9:30 Stage 17 in 21.8
A walljump saves time on level 1. Level 2 is about entering the pipe as quickly as possible (and not messing up before it). Level 3 has a precise jump at the very start.

10:17 Stage 18 in 5.9
On level 3 I did a fast acceleration to save time. The rest is basically hold right.

10:50 Stage 19 in 23.2
Similar to Stage 12. I did fast accelerations/backwards jumps on the first 2 levels to save time.

11:48 Stage 20 in 9.4
One of the hardest stages to optimize. The hardest levels here are probably 4, 6 and 7. Killing Bowser that fast on level 4 requires precise shooting and positioning.

12:43 Stage 21 in 17.3
Very hard stage to optimize. I got insta 1ups on levels 1 and 2 and a very precise jump on level 5 to get enough speed while being able to jump off the left side of the pipe to reach the top of the block.

13:48 Stage 22 in 14.1
On level 1 I did a walljump on the left wall to reach the coins quickly. Level 2 requires good movement through the coins at the end, and level 3 a jump with speed to reach the 3 coins.

14:27 Stage 23 in 53.3
A stage with many levels, but many of them are pretty straightforward. Hardest levels to optimize are 1, 3, 6 and 11.
